When you feel a chill in the air and start to see pumpkins everywhere, you know it's almost Halloween! Bring costumed kids for a spooktacular time in the gardens as we offer a host of fun family activities and healthy snacks. All activities are free with Conservatory admission. Plus, stick around to celebrate the Festival of Lights at our Tropical Forest India Diwali Celebration from 7 – 10 p.m.

Afterward, we'll gather to decorate jack-o-lanterns to bring home and show off on Halloween. Perfect for children of all ages. Costumes are encouraged!

Goblins, ghosts, monsters, oh my! Children and adults alike will delight in our 5th annual trick-or-treating event. Costumed children can visit the historic buildings and receive a fun treat, have their face painted, and pick and decorate their own pumpkin. They can also play with colonial toys and games, listen to scary stories, and help a scarecrow stuff his friend. Volunteers will offer blacksmithing and textile processing demonstrations throughout the afternoon and the Boone House and Bertolet Log House will be open for tours. Children (and adults) are encouraged to wear a costume and bring a bag or basket for treats!

Tah-Ko-King returns to the Center's Lenape Village with lots of family fun and excitement for all to enjoy. Churchville Nature Center's unique Lenape Village will be all set up similar to a working Lenape village of the distant past. Our guides dressed in authentic buckskin clothing will take visitors on a special journey to learn about the Lenape Native Americans while interacting in many hands on activities such as cordage making, fire-making, pottery and crafts, or take part in a candy dance. Learn about Lenape culture at the family life station or enjoy Lenape foods at the cooking station.

Come dressed in costume to compete in the annual costume contest at Sesame Place! Registration begins at 10AM in front of Monster Rock Theater. There will competition for girls, boys and families. All contest will take place at Monster Rock Theater and winners will be posted at the Welcome Center. Boys contest is at Noon. Girls contest at 12:30PM. Family Contest at 2PM. All winners are invited to be special guests in the Neighborhood Street Party parade at 4PM.
